Why Achieve Guilford?
AchieveGuilford is guided by a steering committee of community volunteers and works through project teams in specific focus areas.
Why AchieveGuilford?
Every economic and community development study conducted in Greensboro and High Point has targeted public education as an important issue. There is a direct correlation between a strong school system held in high confidence by the community and the ability to attract individuals and families as well as businesses to Guilford County. A number of community efforts over the years, including the myriad nonprofits and Business for Excellence in Education, High Point Workforce Project, Action Greensboro, and the Guilford Education Alliance, have been developed. And Guilford County Schools has created many new and innovative programs to meet varied student learning interests and needs.
AchieveGuilford was created through a task force embracing all elements of the community and the schools with a goal of forging a common agenda of success by increasing collaboration among existing programs in the community; identifying the most effective programs and working to expand them; developing new programs that can be initiated in new settings; and, engaging the entire community in a focus on student success at all levels.
